About Us
LABMOBILI emerged from the meeting between furniture designer Rafael Oliva and administrator Marcelo Germano. Both shared the desire to chart a new path in design, exploring a more collaborative and accessible approach. A young brand that seeks to democratize Brazilian signature design with intelligent, functional, and contemporary furniture.
The inspiration for the collections comes from a minimalist perspective, where nuances of textures and lines expand the essence of each product. Materials and materials also stand out in the creative process, as the brand constantly investigates these elements to reframe them through furniture. They identify a versatility in objectives—often trivialized in everyday life—exploring their essence and revealing their peak in transformation.
The brand also incorporates handcrafted craftsmanship into its products through partnerships with artisans, communities, and NGOs from all corners of Brazil. It integrates handcrafting to amplify little-known techniques and traditions, encouraging an exchange of knowledge and languages. It elevates craftsmanship to the level of design through a more contemporary and irreverent approach.
Beyond aesthetics and functionality, labmobili promotes a sense of belonging in its creations. It values the potential of furniture to tell its story, connect with a space, and express itself over time. Furniture intrinsically belongs to its surroundings. "Our product invites the customer to participate in an exchange of experiences in their own home," emphasizes Rafael Oliva.
The brand's work embodies the idea of conscious production and social responsibility. Each stage of product creation is designed to minimize waste, introduce more eco-friendly materials, and encourage local and fair production. A creative, productive, and sustainable cycle for the customer and society.

From an early age, Rafael learned to work with carpentry tools and to love the craft. This love stemmed from his grandfather, a carpenter who came from Italy and taught him the art of woodworking.
He later graduated in product design from FAAP, then attended the University of Plymouth in England, and worked in various fields of design. He joined the design team at Philips and the Campana Brothers' studio and institute.
At the Campana Institute, he was able to develop his creativity not only by designing furniture but also by teaching crafts to children and teenagers living in the Moinho community, located in downtown São Paulo.
In 2019, he launched LABMOBILI with his managing partner, Marcelo Germano, where he brought his signature creations to life.
